# Affinity (v1) - How do I link my account?

# Overview

To authenticate with Affinity (v1), you will need:

1. **API Key** - A key that grants Nango permission to interact with Affinity’s v1 API resources and services.

This guide will walk you through generating your API Key within Affinity.

### Prerequisites:

* You must have a registered Affinity account with permission to generate an **API Key**.

### Instructions:

#### Step 1: Generating Your API Key

1. Log in to your [Affinity dashboard](https://affinity.co/auth/signin) and click **Settings** in the left sidebar.

2. Click **API**, then click the **Generate New API Key** button.

#### Step 2: Enter credentials in the Connect UI

Once you have the **API Key**:

1. Open the form where you need to authenticate with Affinity (v1).
2. Enter your **API Key** in its designated field.
3. Submit the form, and you should be successfully authenticated.
